Exposed aggregates concrete
LFHCM-1501
The exposed aggregates concrete represents a decorative and durable solution for exterior construction elements, either horizontal or vertical (roads and access ways, esplanades, patios, terraces, stairs, etc.). In this concrete, the surface aggregates – gravel stones which are usually embedded in concrete are being exposed to create very appealing surfaces.
There are several techniques to produce the exposed aggregates concrete, each of them offering distinctive and surprising aspects. The exposing technique is relatively simple and it consist in the application of a retarder on the surface of the freshly poured concrete. After hardening (generally after 18-24 hours after casting) the surface is cleaned using a power washer, in order to remove the superficial, inert layer of mortar, therefore exposing the aggregates.
