Roller Compacted Concrete – RCC

LFHCM-2002

Roller-compacted concrete - RCC- is a low water content (zero slump) Portland Cement concrete RCC is suitable for heavily loaded or tracked vehicular traffic in vehicle parks, maintenance areas, storage yards, and for low-speed roadways. This solution has the following benefits: - Rapid construction of concrete pavement without using large, expensive slipform pavers - Reduced costs as RCC requires less cement and less finishing labour than PQ concrete. - Easy to repair as it can be Cold Milled exactly the same as Asphalt. - High Flexural Strength – up to 7.0 Mpa (Supports heavy repetitive loads) - High Density (Low water absorption improves durability under freeze/thaw conditions ) - No steel reinforcing (No spalling risk from corrosion) - No formwork (No level irregularities across joints) - Smooth roller finished surface (Less abrasion on tyres) - Light coloured surface (Requires less lighting at night )
