Dusty clay: It is a cohesive soil characterized by a plasticity index in the range of 15-35% (shows high plasticity). The content of dusty clay is: clay (granular fraction below 0,005 mm)30-50%, dust (granular fraction between 0,005 ... 0,05 mm) between 35-65% and sand (granular fraction 0,05 ... 2 mm)<30%. The dusty clay is sensitive to the freeze-thaw phenomenon. Appearance in the section: dusty clay has a glossy texture. The touch has a rough appearance and in contact with water begins to disintegrate.
