Stone Tatami Crema d’Orcia Select

SLVTR-0007

Designer Piero Lissoni has created an elegant take on ancient Japanese matting, reinterpreting it in a selection of stones which echo the natural tones of the rush and cotton traditionally used. Stone Tatami can be laid in a staggered formation using only the Tatami tiles, but for those wanting to replicate the original pattern, it can be laid either with a honed border in a contrasting or complementary colour to create the traditional pattern. This is entirely down to personal choice, depending on the final effect desired. Being a limestone, Crema d’Orcia is relatively porous and so, to prevent the formation of mould, it’s particularly important to apply protective sealants and treatments, and to ensure the surface is cleaned regularly.
